Our fresh broilers, averaging 3 to 4 pounds, are tender, juicy, and flat-out delicious. Raised from “peeps,” our chickens are housed in portable field shelters that are moved daily to a fresh pasture paddock. One wire shelter is large enough to allow 75 chickens to run about for exercise in fresh air and sunshine until they reach full size. They receive all the grain they want in addition to their choice of bugs, worms, and copious amounts of green material from grass, a key element to all animal protein nutrition.
Whether Pike Valley Farm Foods chicken is labeled “organic” or “all-natural,” you can be sure that all our poultry is raised using the exact same sustainable farming practices. The only difference between the two is whether the grain they received was labeled “certified organic.” The much-lower cost of non-organic feed grain allows us to sell our “all-natural” chicken at a lower price.
